When you create products for eBay, the following error may occur:
AddItem: 240 The item cannot be listed or edited. The item name and/or description may contain illegal terms or the listing violates eBay policies.
We are sorry that you have encountered this error. Here are some possible reasons and solutions:
- You're new to eBay: If this is your first eBay product, create it directly through your eBay account. You can then delete the first product and create products via Shirtee.Cloud.
- You have no or not enough positive reviews: Make sure you have enough positive reviews. Otherwise eBay may not let you create any more products.
- You use unauthorized terms: A part of the product name and/or description violates eBay policies. This can be just a single word or a sequence of words. To solve the problem, change your product name and description.
- Maximum sales limit reached: It is possible that you have reached your limit of products sold or sales. If this is the case, it is best to contact eBay support directly.
- Terms of sale not yet accepted: Just check your eBay account to see if you have already accepted the new terms of sale.
- E-mail address or "@" in the text: eBay does not allow the use of e-mail addresses in product descriptions.
- Wrong category: Check again whether you have correctly assigned the category for the product.
- Wrong item location: Check again whether the item location for your product has been selected correctly.
